In this hub you will learn how to get people that are already interested and looking for the kind of art you create!

Imagine knowing that every day you didn't have to worry if you were going to make a sale because people are already contacting you, wallet in hand, and ready to put money in your pocket by buying your artwork.

This can happen and as you read this article, I hope that you take what you learn and begin applying it today.

Literally thousands of people that are selling something, especially online, are discovering what I'm about to share with you and achieving phenomenal results.

I'm sure this is what you want to do too, get awesome results, especially if you are a struggling artist, or you're having to only make money with your art part-time while working.

But let's start with one mistake artists make as they attempt to get people to buy their work.

One Mistake Artists Make When Marketing Themselves

When they market themselves, a lot of the time the message is all about them and not about the buyer they are trying to reach out to.

If you are looking to sell your art, then you are in business. You are making a business interaction when you exchange your work form money. So the best way to have them coming to you is to market a message that speaks to the people you want to reach.

For example I recently connected online with a young lady artist named Terra who wants to live out her passion for painting and drawing. She expressed that her favorite subject is people and she really loves capturing the emotion and character in someone's face.

Here is what I wrote her:

On your facebook fan page, you might want to name it a name that speaks specifically to that niche, or give it a slogan that speaks specifically to people that are wanting this done. Ex: Terra's Painted Portraits. Capturing their Emotions and Character. This might be a niche market for someone that wants to get a gift of a portrait for a family member or friend. The phrase tells your service and how it benefits your customer: Painted Portraits + Captures the Emotion and Character of the person they are getting the painting done for.

As you can see here, I recommend that she market using a phrase like this because the name speaks to the needs or wants of people that are already looking for this kind of art.

So one mistake artists make is talking about their art and what they can do, other than create a message that speaks to the people that want to buy their art. When people find you, you want them to already be interested in the type of work you do.

Tons of Facebook Fans

So now you know: Have a message that speaks to your audience what they want and desire. Now you go and create a Facebook fan page that is about just this message.

Terra already has a website and a fan page and this is good. But now I would tell her to go ahead and create a page that speaks to that specific audience through Facebook.

With a message that speaks to a specific audience and their specific needs, you will magnetically draw them in because you are calling attention to exactly what they want.

Here's another example: Billy's Art! Hey come check out my site! vs. Country Landscape Paintings that Make Your Home Look and Feel Even More Cozy

...now if you were looking for paintings for your home, which site or fan page might you likely visit?

Think of a specific group you want to market to. Create a fan page where the title is a message that speaks directly to the needs and wants of that group of people. This is how you will have those specific people coming to you.

Relationships Are Important

The name of your page or site is simply to capture the attention of the group of people that you are trying to reach. Once you get them to your fan page on Facebook, you then begin to create relationships.

As you build relationships with these fans, not only are they interested in what you offer, but a lot of them become your friends. If they are not buying, they will be recommending others, simply because you become someone that they like and trust.

You can then send them to your personal website to the page of the art work that speaks directly to these kinds of people.

Sells Your Art Putting Money in Your Pocket

This is how you have the right kind of people coming to you, that want to buy what you have to offer, and this puts money in your pocket.

In this article, I'm recommending you use a Facebook fan page to do this, and create real relationships with a niche group. The name of your page should speak to this group in a personal way.  This attracts people that are already interested in your kind of work.

Now you can grow this group and build strong relationships which convert into sales because either they are buying or they are recommending someone.  This puts money in your pocket.
